My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scroll no further! I want to introduce myself! My name is Jacques!

A little about me... Well, the first thing people always notice about me is I am super sweet and very quiet.. I am a super chill pup. I like walks alright, like most dogs, but otherwise you'll find me hanging out in my bed. I love to be comfy! As far as people go... I'm a pretty independent pup. I like people, but am pretty good at entertaining myself too. I get along with other dogs just fine, but I could take 'em or leave 'em. I'll be happy with other dogs or as an only pup!. My favorite things on this earth are: playtime with my human friends, head scratches, and FOOD. Yep, I'm easy to please!

Some more important details: I was part of a large hoarding situation where I had 29 other siblings. My mom tried to care for all of us but was unable to do a good job. I am much better now and am ready for the perfect loving family. I'm super cat friendly! I'd love to have cats in my forever home but if not, no worries. I am crate trained and working on my house training and doing really well. An ideal day for me would start out with going for a walk around the neighborhood.... then we would lazy nap in the sun and we could cap off the day with an evening walk around our neighborhood.. What will make me happiest in my forever home will be to feel safe and loved... finally!

I guess you can say I'm a sweet, adorable dog just looking a loving forever family..

I weigh about 23 lbs and am an estimated 7 or 8 years old.

If you want to meet me, please do an application, that's always the first step to adopting! Then the folks at Good Karma can put you in touch with my foster family so we can meet!

Adoption fee includes DHPP vaccine, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate) heartworm testing, spay/neuter surgery, deworming, wellness vet visit, one month of pet insurance and microchip. All animals are examined by a veterinarian. Please fill out our application at https://gkarma.wufoo.com/forms/good-karma-pet-rescue-dog-adoption-screening/ if you would like to adopt or meet this dog, and we will be in touch right away!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We have a quick but thorough adoption process. We ask you to fill out an application and we will touch base with you by phone. If we feel you are a good fit for the animal you would like to adopt based upon your application, we will want to do a home visit and have you meet the pet. If everything checks out, we will ask that you sign an adoption contract and pay a donation - usually $75 for cats and $150 for dogs. This includes all vetting, spay/neuter, vaccines, etc.

Our contract allows us to come visit you and your new family member after the adoption to make sure everything is going well and your new pet is happy & healthy.

Go meet their pets

We meet potential adopters by appointment only, typically in the foster's or potential adopter's home. Dogs can be arranged to be seen at a local park or a similar location.

More about this rescue

Good Karma Pet Rescue is a small network of foster homes in South Florida dedicated to providing dogs and cats in need with the love and help they need and deserve.

GK was started in 2011 by Stacey Chen, who decided that she could best provide for her foster animals by starting a rescue that aims for best care rather than high volume. We intend to stay as small as we need to be to ensure that every one of our foster animals is treated with the same care and respect we show our own furry family.

GK is based in Fort Lauderdale and is supported by wonderful, dedicated foster parents throughout the South Florida area. If you are interested in helping to save lives through volunteering, fostering, or adopting, please get in touch with us!
