My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

#A5606728 Smokey is a gentle giant! He’s charming and affectionate. This loverboy will light up your life!

-5-year-old, neutered male

-American Staffordshire Terrier/Mastiff mix

-Gunmetal/Italian Roast Coffee fur with a cute white chest

-Came to the Baldwin Park Shelter on 2/3/24 as an owner surrender

-91.5 lbs

-Smokey is an engaging boy who enjoys meeting new people.

-He has a stoic demeanor with calm energy.

-Smokey was tolerant of other dogs in the yard, making friends and coexisting with the other dogs with no issues.

-He has a gentle-dainty playstyle.

-Smokey received pets from his handler well, although he had sensitivity to being petted around his lower legs.

-We think Smokey would soar with someone who has had a dog before, so he knows he can trust and follow that person.

-He did well on the leash, and with a firm handler, he’d be excellent.

-He knows basic commands like “sit” and takes treats gently.

Smokey will be an excellent addition to a family, offering steadfast loyalty and a strong presence as a devoted companion.
