Max is the perfect gentleman. His main goal is to make his people happy. Max is happy to play fetch or just chill out watching tv with you (and yes he does actually watch tv). Max will lay at your feet because he does not get on furniture. If you scratch his belly he will love you forever!! He is very well behaved. Max is so loving and well behaved that he is just a pleasure to be around.
Ideal Family: Any type of family would work with Max, as long as he is getting love and attention. He is a pretty easy and laid back boy.
Likes: In order of importance - belly scratches, playing fetch, treats, walks, and watching tv. Yes, he actually watches tv
Age: 12 years old
Breed: Lab Mix
Weight: 71lbs
Kid-friendly: Yes! In rescue, Max just melts when he is around children. He just adores them. His surrenderers also said Max was raised with children.
Dogs: Yes! Max is a perfect gentleman with other dogs. He has not met any smaller dogs yet, but we have no doubt that he will be just as kind with them. If Max gets to a ball first when playing fetch, he will actually drop the ball and let another dog have it. That’s how much of a kind soul he is.
Cats: Possibly. When Max was surrendered, we were told he has a high prey drive, however, while in rescue, Max was introduced his foster’s cats and showed no interest at all.
Crate Trained: No, but Max’s foster mom confines him to a 6X8 foot bathroom while at work, and he does well with no accidents.
Potty Trained: Yes! If Max needs to go out, he will look at the door and pant.
Health Concerns: Currently being treated for Lyme's.
Adoption fee: $325
Our dogs receive heartworm and flea/tick prevention each month. Dogs that have stage 4 dental disease will receive a dental procedure in rescue. We aspirate all lumps and remove those that our veterinary partners suggest removing. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies, distemper, and bordetella), HW test, blood panel, a microchip, and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.
