My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks!

Meet Debra from our Hollywood Litter. Well, we thought they were Border Collie mixes and much to our surprise, not a single bit of BC. Instead they are GSD / Bully / Doberman / Cattle Dogs. All these fun breeds and a great start in their CA foster home, has some really nice puppies looking for homes.

Debra is currently fostered with other dogs and even cats. She's indifferent to the cats but sometimes thinks they are fun to bark at, so we think a home with dog savvy cats would be fine. Debra is pretty chill, very smart and has a great nose. She loves to romp and play, and is doing great in her crate. We think an active home with land or fenced yard would be great. She's the kind of dog that likes to go for long walks and would make a great hiking companion. Debra is good in her crate, she is still working on housebreaking of course.

This puppy is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated! Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot!

Many rescue dogs need patience when transitioning to a new home. Our foster homes try to socialize each dog with other dogs, cats, kids and even livestock. We have made recommendations on their best home placement based on our foster home information.

Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption.

Save-A-Mutt requires a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience) on our larger breed puppies. You must be willing to start socializing and training as soon vaccinations are completed at 16 weeks. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit.

Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. This puppy is ready for its new home!

Adoption fee is $475 + $100 refundable training deposit. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.

Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
