My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There is an adorable video of me on ACC's page. Click here to experience the cuteness!

My current foster writes:
Khalia is the ultimate couch potato- always ready for a snuggle. She is extremely low maintenance and gets along with everyone she meets. She's housebroken, crate trained, and easy on walks. She does well with adults and children and is the ultimate city dog as she's not startled by loud noises and will go to the bathroom on concrete. Overall, Khalia is an absolute sweetheart who wins over everyone she meets.

My previous foster writes:
Meet Khalia! This adorable senior pup is searching for her forever family. She's a cuddle expert who loves spending quality time with her humans and getting pampered with pets and belly rubs.
Khalia is a social butterfly that enjoys lounging around with her people, making her the perfect family dog. She can be timid at first, so she may do best with older kids or kids that can be respectful of her space. She occasionally plays with toys, but her one true love is snuggling with her humans.
She can get a little mouthy at times when playing with toys & will at times resource guard toys that are near her from my resident pup. It's best to give her the command "drop it" before taking toys directly from her and avoid tug type games. If other pups are in the home, it may be best to keep toys away from her when she's resting so she doesn't feel the need to guard them. She is otherwise super gentle when taking treats and is very food motivated! She is respectful of my small dog's space and would likely do well in a home with another dog with her energy level.

She's a well-behaved walker who doesn't bat an eye at passing dogs or small animals. Since she's an older girl, she walks a bit slow and appreciates encouragement to keep her moving along. She tends to have more pep in her step when the weather is nice!

This smart girl knows 'sit' and 'paw', and is always eager to show off for treats. We are currently working on 'down' and 'drop it'.

Khalia is house-trained & crate-trained. She sleeps like a champ through the night in her crate and does completely fine left home alone (though she will need bathroom breaks every 4-5 hours during the day). She is tolerant of baths and getting her nails clipped. She enjoys having her hair brushed and getting ear scritches.

If you're ready to open your heart & home to a gentle, loving, older dog, Khalia is waiting to meet you!

Khalia is a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home! She has mild dental disease an
