Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I’m Avery! I am a super smart, adorable, 7 month old loyal husky pup. I had a rough start to life, so I might take a few minutes to warm up to you, but once I trust you, I won’t leave your side.
I adore playing outside in the backyard with my sister and foster brother, so I’d love a home with room to run. I could run and wrestle all day if that was an option. I somehow always manage to be the one being chased, but I don’t mind! Running is so great and I often get the zoomies.
I also love dogs! Whenever I go out, I’m always interested in meeting new dog friends with a few sniffs and a very enthusiastic tail wagging. I will let other dogs know when they do something I don’t like, but never aggressively and I have not displayed dominant behavior. I do love to dig, which my foster mom is working on with me. I also love to chase lizards and frogs! I never catch them, but they’re very fun to chase and try to pounce on. I’ve met some small dogs though and have made friends with them!
I do love to chase squirrels when given the opportunity, and I’ve seen a couple of cats outside on our walks and have shown a little too much interest in them. Because of this, I should probably go to a home without cats.
I love people! I have been around many bigger humans and love them all. I have not been tested with children, but I am gentle and shouldn’t have any issues with them.
I am still working on leash training; I was never introduced to one until very recently and there is so much to see outside! My forever family will need to continue to work with me on this, especially because I’m super smart and when I know I’m close to home, I’ll put my sled dog instincts to use, and husky pull until we get back.
I am also still working on crate training. I really hated my crate when I first met it, but I am doing so much better and even get excited to go to it at bedtime! I do enjoy getting a little energy out before I go in my crate if you’re leaving the house during the day, but once I’m there, I’ll chill out and probably take a nap.
I am ready to go and be someone's sweet girl! Is it you?
