All Adoptions require a Pre-Adoption Interview with a YCAS Adoption Counselor, a meet and greet, and adoption approval. Every adoptable dog is Spayed or Neutered, implanted with a microchip, current on age appropriate vaccinations including a current 1 year Rabies Vaccination, and current on monthly Flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention. All pets are behaviorally and medically evaluated prior to being placed up for adoption. The adoption fee is $77.

Additional adoption info

If the animal has not yet been spayed/neutered, the adopter can come back the next day to pick the animal up. Veterans receive one free adoption each year with proof of military enlistment.

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm. We also offer Saturday hours from 9:00am to 12:00pm with extended hours on the third Saturday of every month.

We are the only open-admission shelter in our community and have an annual intake of about 5500 dogs, cats, livestock, and wildlife.
