My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shadow

SHADOW IS AT THE NORTH COUNTY SHELTER, SO DO NOT CONTACT ARRF. YOU NEED TO CALL THE SHELTER AT (619)767-2675 OR VIEW HIM DURING THE SE HOURS: Tue-Sun from 10 am until 4:00 pm. ID # IS A1921364.

Introducing Shadow, a true dream dog: this five-ish-year-old Lab Retriever/Border Collie mix is well-mannered, house-trained, easy to walk on a leash, rides well in the car, likes other dogs, loves to give and get affection, and doesn't need a lot of exercise. He is medium energy, so a few walks daily through the neighborhood, on the local trails or the beach, followed by lots of downtime to sleep, enjoy the sun, or watch TV, will keep this sweet soul very happy. His vaccinations are up to date, and he is neutered.

Shadow wants you to know that adult dogs like him who have been around for a few years are often the best dogs - they have training under their belts and know basic commands; they don't chew on slippers, books, or other items that don't belong to them, they like plenty of down time, and they do everything possible not to have accidents in the house.

Shadow tells us that he would be delighted with an older but active family or a younger family who will give him daily outings and some time to relax. And if his new family had a dog of similar energy, Shadow wouldn't mind, but he would be ok as an only dog, too.

If you want your dream dog, meet Shadow at the San Diego County Animal Shelter North Campus, 2481 Palomar Airport Road, Carlsbad, CA 92011. Shadow is available for adoption or foster. The shelter is open for animal viewing Tue-Sun from 10 am until 4:00 pm. You can also meet Shadow at other times by scheduling an appointment at (619)767-2675. Be sure to mention Shadow's ID number, which is A1921364.
