My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We love Lucy and you’ll love her too! Lucia Ricardo (aka Lucy) was found in the middle of a bridge in the pouring rain, and she has come such a long way since then. Lucy is an independent and self sufficient lady who likes the company of humans. While she can be a cuddly girl, and likes to sleep next to you and even lay on your chest at night, she isn’t clingy and likes her space, too. She loves fluffy blankets and will suckle on them while making biscuits and getting cozy for a nap next to you on the couch.

She loves head and chin scratches, and her favorite are ear massages! She enjoys the occasional full body pet but has boundaries when it comes to petting her lower back and will let you know with a little nibble.

Lucia is on the younger side and is an active cat who needs to get regular play time. She enjoys playing with mice and wand toys and chasing the laser! One of her favorite games is hide and seek. She loves hiding in her tunnel and jumping out to “scare” you as you walk by. While she tolerates other cats and currently coexists with 3 foster siblings, she has a high prey drive and can sometimes chase them around the house and wrestle them too roughly. She would thrive in a home as an only cat, or with an experienced cat owner and slow introductions. At times, Lucia can be a bit snippy and give “love bites” when she is overstimulated. Due to this, she would do best in a home without children.

This beautiful girl has been in foster care for a year and it’s time for her to find her forever home!

Lucia is between 2-3 years old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained.

***Right now, all adoption fees are 50% off!!***

Adoption Fees (without the 50% off discount):

Cats under 1 year old: $150 + 8% sales tax = $162
Cats aged 1-10 years old: $100 + 8% sales tax = $108
Two kittens under 1 year old: $225 + 8% sales tax = $243
Senior Cats (10+ years old): $75 + 8% sales tax = $81

* You must be 18 or older to adopt. If you’re under 18, you must have a parent or guardian submit an application on your behalf.
* All cats must be kept indoors. In special circumstances, we may waive this requirement on a case-by-case basis.
* We do not adopt to any home that will declaw an animal. Declawing is cruel and unnecessary.
* All cats/kittens must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
* Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or into a home with another active cat or cat-friendly dog.
* Your adoption fee helps to cover a small part of the costs of veterinary care. However, we strongly recommend that you take your new kitty to your vet for a check-up shortly after adopting to establish a relationship and a lifetime of regular check-ups and care.
