My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Viper is a lovable, loyal 5 year old German shepherd. Although he takes some time to warm up once he does you will have a buddy for life. He enjoys belly rubs, pets and treats to bond with you. He loves to play fetch with two balls because it’s just too exciting to put the first ball down! He also enjoys lounging on the couch or outside in the sunshine and rolling in the grass. When you get home he likes to show his love by jumping up to say “hi!” but once he’s greeted he will get down when asked. He loves going for walks but does pull because there’s just to many smells to checkout. He knows basic commands, is house trained, up to date on shots and neutered. He is very anxious around small kids and unpredictable movements so a home without children is a must. He has never been in a home with other animals so would probably do best as an only pet but may get along with other dogs similar in size. He will be the best boy for the right person who will give him the love and attention he deserves. Our rescue is helping his family find a new home. Additional adoption info

Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog from All Mixed Up Dog Rescue (AMU) This application will assist us in finding you the right dog for your family and your lifestyle. Please note that we do not adopt out of the state of Colorado.

The adoption fee for our dogs is $250 which includes a veterinary health examination, up-to-date vaccinations, a microchip, dogs will be spayed or neutered, and heartworm tested. They will come with a dog collar and ID tag. Senior dog adoption fees will be posted separately for each dog.

You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt any of AMU’s available rescue dogs. If you feel you can offer the type of stable and responsible home we look for and are under the age of 25, you may submit your application and it will be taken under consideration.

The adopter understands that this is an application to adopt and part of the application process includes contacting your vet and personal references (please inform your references that we may be calling them). If your application meets our requirements, we will contact you by phone to conduct an interview before making a final decision regarding your application. Please do not send emails regarding the status of your application.

We typically do not adopt to homes with children under 6 years of age, homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis for each dog.

More about this rescue

All Mixed Up Dog Rescue serves the public as a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of homeless and abandoned dogs. While in rescue we provide a loving, temporary home for each one. We get them vetted, groomed, teach them basic manners, along with some training. We strive to personally get to know each one of our dogs and look for a family that best fits their needs. What we have learned in the past is - the more you have in common the more it will make for a better relationship. Our goal at All Mixed Up Dog Rescue is to find well-matched, permanent families for each one of them. As a community resource, we provide nutrition information, referrals, education, training tips and other services.
