Don't let Hunter's disapproving glare fool you; he's actually a sweetheart. He was adopted from the Humane Society when he was just a baby, but due to situations outside of his control he had to come back. Hunter was pretty nervous when he came back, and we don't blame him! A noisy shelter with lots of smells can be really overwhelming especially if you've spent the last few years in a home environment. He's warmed up so much, though, and really enjoys getting attention! Head scratches? Sign him up! The Woodford Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal organization located in Versailles, Kentucky. We provide shelter and care to the homeless and unwanted animals in Woodford County, surrounding counties, as well as animals from other states. We care for pets of all breeds and ages, with no time limit on their stay, and we are proud to maintain an annual placement rate of over 95%.
With no government funding, we are completely dependent on private contributions to continue to provide care to around a thousand animals each year.
Adoption fees include spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations and deworming while at our Adoption Center, feline leukemia and FIV screening for cats, heartworm screening for dogs, a microchip with a lifetime registration, a free veterinary checkup, and a starter bag of food.
