My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue for information. Contact information is provided in the description below.

Ziggy is a 6-1/2 year old Blue Heeler who needs a new home as he doesn't get along with other male dogs in the household. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. He does not like toddlers, but tolerates older children. He is fine with cats, chickens, female dogs, and some male dogs - it just depends on their temperament. Ziggy is totally house trained, and sleeps inside or outside depending on the weather. He does OK on leash and in the car.

If you are interested in Ziggy, please contact Carla at 828-395-3641.

Additional adoption info

Everyone that adopts must first fill out an application and get approved by our adoption team. We allow people to meet our animals to make sure it is the right fit along with letting their animals meet our animals as well as long as that animal meets the vetting criteria.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit and no-kill shelter in Rutherford North Carolina. We pull animals from animal control and take in animals from the community. We make sure everyone is healthy, up to date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and put on something for fleas, ticks and heartworm prevention. We then place them up for adoption making sure they go into great homes.
