Thriving in his foster home, 2-year-old Tucker is 50 pounds worth of sweetness and friendliness. The consummate cuddler, loving and loyal, he’s happiest being where his fosters are and always follows them around like a faithful doggy shadow. He loves snuggling with them, resting his head on them and turning over for belly rubs as much as he loves hiding his toys, especially squeaky toys, chewing on bones and playing tug-o-war with a rope. Extremely energetic, Tucker also loves spending as much time as possible outside in the yard, running and chasing “critters” and going for walks, honing his leash skills along the way. Good with other dogs and with children, motivated by food, toys and love, he currently knows “come,” “sit” and “no,” and accepts all treats gently, but he’s capable of escaping through an open door very quickly. Never crated and almost fully house-trained to a doggy door, Tucker will thrive in an active home, preferably with a securely fenced yard and another canine companion, that will complete his training, including his commands, and keep him in cuddles fur-ever.
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order they're submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If your home sounds like a good match for you and the pet, we will connect you with our dogs' foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a "meet and greet" is set up. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to finalize the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption.
Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption.
Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!
Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time.
PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/
Our adoption process is:
1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.
2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
