Stormi is as curious as a cat in a Rottweiler sized body. Her foster family says they have Stormi-proofed their home for this lovable, loyal, and very sweet girl.
It is a fine balance of being firm but loving. Stormi had not been a family member in her last home. She was crated for long periods of time or left in a backyard. She has acclimated to our home and is still working on her manners with good progress.
No one will ever convince her she is not a lap dog. She does the Rottweiler lean and melts to the floor for a belly rub if you gain her trust.
Human food makes her eyes glaze over and her manners disappear. She has improved but it is a work in progress.
Patience and consistency is vital. Stormi needs daily walks, play and attention. She is housebroken, and very food motivated. Peanut butter is her favorite.
She is aloof with strangers. Guests may or may not be greeted easily - best not to overwhelm her. Older children 8 years & up and those with dog experience would be ideal.
She is not reactive to other dogs on walks or when they visit our home. Stormi is a bit unpredictable though and we have been careful with introductions, both canine and human. Slow introductions and awareness of Stormi's mood / anxiety is necessary.
The best match for Stormi is a calm home that can put her needs first. Experience with the breed would be ideal, however we had zero experience and she is doing well. It just takes patience, kindness and love. She is very grateful when given those key things and, of course, peanut butter.

More about this rescue
Mission Statement: To end the unnecessary suffering of homeless companion animals by serving as a refuge and enabling humans to provide them quality and compassionate homes.
Our Vision: Our mission is two-fold; we want to help abandoned pets and we want to help stop pet abandonment.
We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
