My story

Hey all, it's me, Checkers

What's that? You love hiking. Guess what? Me too!

I am a young boy found as a stray.
Homeward Bound Rescue gave me this wonderful foster family who have taken amazing care of me.
And guess what? I have a foster fur-brother. I absolutely love running and wrestling with him.
I would LOVE to have another dog that I can play with and be my bestest friend.

I am learning new tricks and commands every day and I gladly do them because I know there's a treat waiting for me.

I happily go into my crate when no one is home and also at night time. I am very quiet in there. I do well with a large Kong filled with peanut and treats to help keep me occupied when everyone goes to work and school.

Because I am young and just learning how to be the best boy, I would do amazing with older kids(7+).
I just want to be in your lap all day and might try to bounce right on your lap.

I haven't met a cat but its probably best I don't live with one. I just LOVE to wrestle and play chase.

If you're looking for a nice hiking buddy or a chill on the couch buddy, I'm your man!!!

Application, reference checks, home visits, and then a meeting or more before adoption. We DO charge an adoption fee. Our dogs are not Free!
All dogs are:
*spayed/neutered
*vaccinated DHPP+Rabies
*dewormed
*microchipped
*start flea prevention (during flea season)
*of course take care of medical issues/surgeries as needed
* Our dogs are loved in foster homes in the GTA and Surrounding area

We do not adopt out intact dogs so do not ask!

More about this rescue

We rescue mainly Bulldogs and other flat faced dogs!!!! We love the breeds and know they sometimes need extra care and love. Before you consider any of these breeds you should get familiar with the terms; cherry eye, entropian, dry eye, heat stroke, bloat, cruciate and know that sometimes these breeds can develop or have these issues. Also remember they drool, snore, pass gas and breath heavy this is not for everyone, but for us it is normal!
