My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Chloe. I'm a sweet senior lady, a bit on the shy side, and it may take me a while to warm up. But once I do, I promise, I'm worth the wait. I'm quite independent, but I do love all the attention I can get. A gentle pat on the head or a kind word makes my tail wag with joy.
I may be a little nervous at first, but with patience and love, I'll show you the depth of my loyalty and affection. If you're looking for a companion who's independent, yet adores your company, then I'm your girl.
I do need to have a 6' privacy fence and due to my nervousness I cannot go to an apartment. If you have a dog friend it needs to be a respectful, calm dog.
I am an Overlooked Pet at the shelter, which means I've been looking for my forever home a lot longer than many of my friends here at the shelter. This means my adoption fee is up to you!
Adopting me would mean a lifetime of love and companionship. I promise to be the best friend you've ever had.

More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
