Meet Bo! A bonded brother to his pal Soldier! Soldier's bio here: https://www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org/adopt-a-dog#sl_embed&page=shelterluv_wrap_1660920929980%2Fembed%2Fanimal%2FLOVP-A-430

Looking for a couple of lap dogs? Look no further! These boys would be glad to help! Sadly their owner moved to assisted living so these sweet pups are in need of a new home. Are you willing to take in 2 sexy, senior pups? They ask only that you provide them with love, a lap (2 laps would be better!) & some yummy food. Speaking of which, Soldier (9YO) DESPERATELY needs the canine version of Jenny Craig. He is very overweight & literally waddles when he walks! We're pretty sure the previous owner fed them table food so their foster is introducing them to a healthier canine diet. Soldier will be "swimsuit ready" before you know it! Bo (13YO) is a little timid but warms up very quickly. These boys ARE NOT yappy Chihuahuas - yeah! Not only are they quiet but they're cat friendly. What more could you ask for? They need to go to a home together. After all, haven't they been through enough without being separated? Please apply for these sweet boys today. You won't regret it!!!

Bo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and just had a dental cleaning for his pearly whites!

***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue***

The adoption fee for a senior dog is $300, which helps with the cost of routine vet care.

***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many!

***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us; thus, we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.***

Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal.

Our Adoption Events are scheduled on a monthly basis depending on where most of the dogs are fostered at that time. We plan to hold 6-8 events per year.

More about this rescue

Canines & Kitties Rescue is an animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected, and abandoned dogs, puppies, cats and kittens at risk of euthanasia. Our mission is to rescue animals from local and out of state open-admission, high-intake shelters. Our volunteers are experienced in animal care, proper placement and provide assistance to our animals throughout the foster journey, adoption process and beyond. All animals are cared for in our network of volunteer foster homes.

Our volunteer rescuers work with local veterinarians, foster homes, and trainers to provide foster based homes, medical care and training for our animals until she/he is placed in a loving, carefully screened new home. We are dedicated to helping dogs and cats of all breeds and ages including the older, sick, and injured animals as well as the readily adoptable. We have a special spot in our hearts for pregnant unwanted animals and strive to find them a safe foster home to birth and raise their young. We are advocates for spay and neuter and that each animal we rescue will be spayed and neutered at an appropriate age.

Canines & Kitties Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an exclusively 100% volunteer based, foster-based rescue with our foster network spanning Northern VA, MD, and DC.
