My name is Boo!

THE UNLIKELY DUO: 'Boo' the Shar Pei and 'Pickles' the Flat Coated Retriever!

These two dogs found each other in the unlikeliest of places-a shelter. They formed an inseparable bond from the moment they met becoming BFF's.

Boo is a petite little lady with a big personality in a small package - she is full of quirks and sure to keep you entertained with her silly personality. Boo arrived with a severe skin condition that is being managed with a hydrolyzed protein diet and medicated baths. Her skin has improved immensely! This diet will likely need to be continued for the rest of her life and adopters will need to be able to take on the expense of this special diet.

Boo is usually quite confident but in certain situations she can get a little nervous. She knows when to seek out a quiet spot if she needs a break. She would not be suitable with younger children.

Ideally, Boo and her fellow shelter friend Pickles (please read his story) would be adopted together. Boo has really shown Pickles how to be a dog and that it is okay to trust people. The two of them have become very close and spend their days by each other's side. We recognize this is a big ask due to their different needs, but we think a home together would be what is best for both of them.

1. Visit our centre to meet this pet during viewing hours at 3202 Norland Ave, learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person; or
2. Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit!

Please note our adoption/viewing hours 1-5pm Monday to Wednesday and Friday. (Closed to the public Thursdays)
