Let us introduce you to Mr. Ben.This fun and clumsy galoot of a big boy has HUGE paws that he never grew into!
He has the cutest brown speckles on his floppy ears and throughout his body. The foster always jokes that before coming to the shelter, he must have knocked over a can of brown paint and after being scrubbed, cute little brown speckles remained on his nose and ears.
This 4 yr old 75 lb bestest boy has been a great foster! Ben has been nearly perfect in the foster's home. He's a very calm quiet boy and he loves people - adults and kids.
He gets along well with other dogs, especially the foster's crazy girl dog. She had to teach him how to play but after 4-6 days he is now open for rough and tumble play when she wants him to play.
He's very good with the foster's 3 cats. He leaves them alone and his most intrusive episode was when he sniffed the oldest cat's rump.
He also walks well on a leash. And, he's very responsive to No and Come - he's quickly learning Sit, and Shake Hands is next!
As usual, he's up to date with all of his vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative, and class FF - flea free!

More about this shelter
The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
