** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe St location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day between 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs.
Papyrus is canine perfection! From his adorable sniffy snout to his waggy tail, this darling boy is wonderful. A kind person found him as a stray and brought him to HRA. He was never claimed, so YOU could be the lucky person to have this great dog. Papyrus is super sweet, and he is incredibly handsome. What is not to like about this guy, right!?!?! Ready for a new best friend and an active buddy to go places with? Papyrus is waiting for you!
And a volunteer who recently spent time with Papyrus had this to share: Papyrus got out of the shelter today and did great! He was very excited before we got to the car but then settled right in during the ride and was very chill and calm in the park. He was easy to walk on leash and very treat motivated. Papyrus got along well with other dogs and is a total cuddle bug! Papyrus really is a wonderful, easygoing dog who would make a great addition to your family!

At the Humane Rescue Alliance, we honor more than 150 years of commitment to protecting animals, supporting families, and advocating for positive change to create a world where all animals can thrive. HRA serves as a national leader and local champion for all animals.
LOCAL FOCUS
With a people-focused, community-based approach, we treat every animal as an individual and emphasize specialized care for both animals and their families. Through our five campuses in the District of Columbia and New Jersey, we are the largest animal services provider in our region – touching the lives of tens of thousands of animals annually through direct rescue, care, and community-based services. Our teams find solutions to both small and big problems, from providing direct care to an animal in crisis to tackling systemic barriers to affordable, pet-friendly housing.
