My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mack exudes loyalty and dedication, coupled with a heart of gold. Despite his rugged exterior, he possesses a remarkably gentle and affectionate nature, particularly with those he holds dear. Highly intelligent and perceptive, Mack remains ever-watchful and prepared to safeguard his flock at all costs. His penchant for routine and structure renders him an exemplary companion for individuals experienced in handling livestock guardian dogs.

Having cohabitated with birds, he has displayed promise in adapting to his working dog role. Although lacking extensive professional exposure, Mack is eager to acquire knowledge and stands poised to excel under the guidance of an experienced LGD owner.

As a solitary working dog, Mack requires an owner capable of providing the necessary training and support. Flourishing in environments where his purpose is clear, he finds fulfillment in protecting his charges. Adequate socialization and exposure to diverse livestock are imperative to ensure Mack's comfort and effectiveness in his role.
:
Mack thrives in a rural setting, with ample space to fulfill his duties as a vigilant guardian. An experienced owner attuned to the nuances of LGDs would provide him with the guidance and structure necessary for optimal development. Mack's preference for working solo makes him best suited as the sole guardian on the property, enabling him to dedicate himself entirely to his responsibilities.Big Paws of the Ozarks is a foster-based dog rescue in Northwest Arkansas. We require an approved adoption application on file before scheduling meets with our dogs. You can find the application here (www.bigpawsozarks.org/adoption-application). Please email info@bigpawsoftheozarks.org if you have specific questions about an available dog.

More about this rescue

Big Paws of the Ozarks is a foster-based dog rescue in Northwest Arkansas. We aim to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in our local community. We specialize in large breed dogs (over 40 pounds) but do get the occasional small paw in rescue too! We work closely with shelters and other rescues in our community to target and save dogs who are at risk of euthanasia or have found themselves falling between the cracks of our animal rescue community.
