My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

There's nothing like sweet puppy energy! Ethan is an adorable, wiggly, little guy!

Ethan is believed to be a Maltese / Schnauzer mix. At just about 4 months old and 9 lbs (estimated to be about 18 lbs full grown), he is a perfect size to hike the Colorado trails and then at day's end, snuggle close all night long.

Ethan is coming to Farfel's Rescue from a small, high-kill shelter in Texas.

Ethan has a stunning wire-y, scruffy coat. His hair, being what looks like a mix of wire and curly hair, will need commitment to periodic brushing and grooming to keep him comfortable and matt-free.

Ethan has showed that he really enjoys humans and other dogs. We would prefer, however, to place her in a home with older kids (tail pulling or rough treatment with a puppy will create an adult dog that's fearful of children). Older kids can be active participants in a training regimen and friendship that's so important in a dog's development.

Since Ethan is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. He will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior.

Ethan is up to date on his shots for his age, but will still need one more booster shot until he can go out on public ground safely. Rabies vaccine also cannot be given until he is 4 months old. Ethan has yet to be neutered. We cover the cost of his neuter at our approved vet clinic. Neuter is required to be done before he turns 1 year old, and required to finalize any adoption.

Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.

Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.

Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.
