Rawley is a handsome boy with his shepherd/lab looks and shiny soft fur. He loves everyone he meets and looks forward to pets and attention. Typical of a shepherd, he connects deeply with his people and relies on the handler for cues. He is currently living with his foster dad and a small resident female dog. He also spends a lot of time at a family friend’s house with two 13 year old’s.
He is four years old, well-behaved, nondestructive, housetrained, and crate trained. He has medium energy, walks well on leash, and is used to wearing a harness. He is very trainable and already knows “sit” and “shake” commands. He can entertain himself with a ball and by jumping into a doggy pool. He really loves the water!
Rawley is initially reactive when he meets a dog close-up during walks, but he can be easily redirected. He’s done well with his foster dad’s tiny (and spicy!) female dog. He is patient with her and even walks away on his own when she tries to provoke him. We believe Rawley will accept other dogs with proper introductions. Examples of proper introductions include a few pack walks and separating the dogs initially in the house and then gradually integrating them over few days.
When we first met Rawley we knew he would shine outside of the shelter, and we were right! This sweet boy has a lot to offer. He wants to greet you when you walk in the door. He wants to be your best friend.
