Her Story: Pepper was found in May of 2020 as a small kitten under the stairs at a friend's house in New Orleans. She was adopted by my sister who cared for her for the ?irst three years of her life. Pepper did very well in her home as an indoor/outdoor cat with a small chihuahua mix and with my sister's single lifestyle. When my sister had to leave New Orleans, I jumped to take her in so she could stay inside the family (June 2023). Special qualities: Pepper is amazingly adaptable: unlike other cats that take weeks to get to know a place, Pepper moves in and already knows her way around. Pepper has found her own beat in urban, suburban and rural life. She is very active, and in our experience, she spent most daylight hours outside. She will jump into your lap for purry pets and lick your hand. Her favorite place to be pet is from whisker to ear. She is very affectionate, spicy and sweet! She loves faucets, bathtubs, sinks, but she knows not to venture onto kitchen counters. If you correct her, she remembers. How to set her up for success: Generally, she feels threatened by big dogs and gets over stimulated by small children. In those situations, she stands her ground and will likely become defensive. She may do better with older children, as little ones don't register her boundaries. She sometimes uses her teeth or claws if she is handled too much, but once her trust is gained, she will let you handle her more. Why was she rehomed? My sister moved out of state and couldn't keep her with her. Our family has a rough and tumble two-year-old and a large dog. We love our girl Pepper! She is very deserving of a loving home
