My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Newf was purchased 2019 (?) as a puppy in front of Newport Safeway. He received all his puppy shots by a local vet. He was raised by an older couple and was not properly trained. The wife recently died in Oct and Newf is too much dog for the husband in these later years.
He will usually sit, lay down and come on command (when in the house). Food is always a motivator and helps with compliance. But truthfully, when he is outside, he seems to do so as he pleases and at his discretion. He loves a mixture of being inside and outside, both equally.
He will break away at times and run off for a few hours but always returns home for dinner. He loves to go for a ride in the car. He does not chase deer or turkeys and allows them to walk through his 1.5 acre enclosure. He has not done much in the water but neither has he had real opportunity. He needs more training and will make an excellent dog once he learns to obey. He does not get along well with other alpha males but has not fought.
