"My name is CORA, a 6 month old adolescent puppy looking for love. Shelter life is lonely for a pup, I've spent half my young life here, with people passing us "older" puppies by for cute young puppies. I've watched as my siblings and friends find homes, dreaming of my gotcha day! Don't let my rather serious face fool you... inside I'm brimming with playfulness and puppy love! I'm sweet, dog friendly and love people. I'd love nothing more than going on long walks and sniffing life's adventures with my new family. Though I'm still young with much to learn, I'm eager and ready to be trained. So if you're dreaming of a loyal, forever friend, look no further... give me a chance. I'll prove that adopting an adolescent shelter pup will complete your life and mine, just ask for Cora."
Cora is amazing and a favorite. We laugh about her "resting grumpy" face but inside she's smiling! Her fur is a beautiful brown brindle and her puppy dog eyes will melt your heart! Give this 6 month old girl a moment of your time, you won't regret it!

More about this shelter
The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
