My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Can you say HUNKules? This handsome tuxedo senior was rescued from a busy Houston highway by a wonderfully Good Samaritan. She immediately took him to a vet clinic for care and discovered this 7 year old guy weighed only a measley 4.5lbs. She reached out to our rescue for help, and we couldn’t say no after seeing his fragile, tiny body. Hercules is now eating high calorie food on a feeding schedule to help him regain his strength. Hercules is FIV+, but does not care about cats anyway! He does not mind the presence of dogs at all! Foster mom reports he is very cuddly, curious and loving. Hercules' adoption fee is sponsored. Please send us an inquiry to meet Hercules in the BCS area.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

More about this rescue

Long Way Home was created to provide the last stop for animals displaced from their homes, deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues, or that need a level of care their previous owners or other shelters are unable or unwilling to provide.
