My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LeRoy is a 4 yr American Pit Bull Terrier!  He ended up at the shelter by no fault of his own, his owner unexpectedly passed away.  LeRoy is big on exercise and enjoys his walks, he would be an excellent jogging buddy. His favorite yard activities are playing tug-o-war and fetch with his humans. LeRoy is DTC (Down to cuddle) and enjoys nothing more than snuggling up with his favorite blankies and stuffies. While he does really good with sit stay shake, LeRoy could use a refresher on his leash manners since he pulls a little but does pretty good with a harnesss leash, but who doesn't have a few rough edges.  With some treats and a whole lot of love, LeRoy will be walking like a pro in no time. Come check out LeRoy and see if he's the pup to complete your family.

The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.

Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.

*****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an application here: Www.TownandCountryHumaneSociety.Org/AdoptSomeone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.  The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit!

More about this rescue

We are a no kill shelter operating in Sarpy County, Nebraska, a suburb of Omaha. We re-home dogs, cats and small critters. We work with dogs that are typically on "death row" and take in dogs from kill shelters in KS, TX, MO and elsewhere, as needed. Our cats usually come from kill shelters with an occasional owner surrender under special circumstances. Critters are found a variety of ways.

We also provide boarding and grooming services at very reasonable rates.
