My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola is a young, athletic dog who brightens the days of all who meet her. As a mix between a Pointer and a Terrier, she exhibits the best traits of both breeds. At just a year old, Lola has a puppy's exuberance and playfulness, darting around the yard chasing butterflies. Her Pointer heritage gives Lola an athletic build. The Terrier in Lola makes her feisty, curious, and always up for an adventure. She loves spending her days outdoors soaking up the sunshine. Lola gets along well with other dogs and delights in having a canine playmate to romp around with. The two will playfully chase each other until they collapse in an exhausted, happy heap. Her true joy comes from exploring the great outdoors and going on long walks, hikes, or swims with her loved ones. With her upbeat, affectionate personality, Lola is a delightful companion who fills each day with fun and unconditional love. Her sweet, loyal spirit makes her a cherished member of the family.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
