My name is Zuko!

Zuko recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say!

"Spent today with Zuko again. We went and walked some trails at Bur-Mill park and sat and watched some geese. He pulls on the leash but will eventually tire some and give some loose leash, very friendly with people, bicyclists, and passing dogs. He was also happy rolling around in the grass and quietly laying and watching the geese. We then met my mom for a little bit of her lunch and got some ice cream at Andy's frozen Custard. He's gentle when taking treats or food. Then we went to my apartments dog park so he could have some off leash time playing with a squeaky ball. He would rather roll around and sniff the grass then play with the ball I had in my car. He's working on learning sit and was able to do it successfully several times today. He's not bad in the car but wants to be near you. He's a very loving boy who wants to rest his head on your shoulder as you drive, get all the butt scratches and give plenty of kisses. He will require some training as he is mouthy like a puppy, and doesn't understand that his playful bites when roughhousing might be a bit much. I think if he could find a toy that suits him, he could be redirected to playing tug and probably end a lot of that behavior. He definitely has the potential to be a wonderful dog for someone and I absolutely love this guy."

As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.
