Hi, my name is Boone and I am believed to be a American pit-terrier mix who is approximately one year old. I have been introduced to male and female dogs, with male I played bowed and great body language, with female I was a little nervous but after some time I relaxed, no bite attempts made, I have yet to meet a cat/kitten. I am ok with men and women, not sure about children (best to do a meet and greet to be sure). The shelter recommends slow introductions and following the 3/3/3 rule for all introduction regardless of my behavior in the shelter My previous family had the following to say about me: the pet has lived and gotten with dogs and children (no age given), is house and crate trained, has mostly lived outside, enjoys going for walks and playing with squeaky/plush toys, some commands the pet know is sit, stay, down, come when called and paw, some behavior issue seen are chewing on inappropriate objects, jumping on people and furniture and barking. I am code red and at risk for euthanasia for the following reason: While inside the kennel the dog will display sings of barrier reactivity, low growl, barking, rushing up to the kennel door when approached but once outside the kennel the dog is very sweet.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
ADOPTIONS MUST BE MADE IN PERSON at Fort Worth Chuck Silcox Animal Care and Control OR the specified PetSmart location. Please refer to the pet you are interested by their animal ID number; not their stated name. Adopters will be asked to complete an adoption application and provide valid ID showing that they are at least 18 years old.
The adoption fee is $49.00 for dogs and $25.00 for cats. The fee includes vaccinations, a city license, spay/neuter, a microchip and a heartworm test. The shelter will not release the adopted pet until after it has provided these services. Exceptions may be granted due to age, health or injury.
