Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Posing in a field of red poppies and sporting bunny ears, Maxwell is a mixed metaphor. What can he say? He wants to appeal to everyone. This easy-going guy doesn’t need to do anything to sell himself. He is perfect! He has been staying in a foster home, where we learned he is housebroken, has incredible manners, sleeps through the night on a dog bed, and uses the dog door. Moreover, he gets along well with the other dogs in the house. Although he was abandoned in a filthy hotel room, Maxwell doesn’t let circumstances bother him. He is happy to live in the moment and trusts that all will be fine. This easy-going hound is about 8 years old and weighs 45 pounds. He has some skin tags and lumps but nothing to cause concern. He has a good energy and a good appetite. If you meet Maxwell once, there’s no question you’ll want to adopt him.. He knows sit, walks with minor pulling on leash and gets along with children.
If you are interested in adopting from the City of Georgetown Animal Shelter, please fill out an application at https://records.georgetown.org/Forms/AdoptApp . Approved applicants will be contacted to schedule an appointment to meet available dogs and cats. Please contact the shelter with any additional questions
The application/screening process for potential adopters usually takes about 24 hours except when it falls over a weekend or holiday, and then it may take two or three days. We ask that potential adopters please be patient with us; we are only trying our best to ensure that the homeless pets in our care get the best possible home. All cats and dogs adopted from our shelter are spayed or neutered (as Texas law mandates).
Our adoption fee is currently $70 for non-residents and $75 for residents*.
The adoption fee includes:
spaying/neutering
vaccinations (appropriate to species and age)
heartworm or feline leukemia test (appropriate to species and age)
de-worming medication
microchip (a tiny ID tag inserted under the skin, which allows your pet to be returned to you quickly)
There is a $5 Pet License fee added to the adoption fee if the adopter lives inside the City Limits of Georgetown.
Please visit our website for more information on how to adopt, special events, adoption application, educational and volunteer information.
