The NAWS Dog Adoption Program operates as a rescue versus a shelter. We believe in matching the right dog with the appropriate family based on each specific dog and family’s needs. To achieve this, we believe in spending the appropriate amount of time with each family to allow for enough interaction time with potential adopters. This cannot be achieved if people stop by unexpectedly to meet our dogs. NAWS is a 501c3 no-kill humane society with a Mission to change the face of animal welfare.
Until there are appropriate regulations at the federal and state levels to help eliminate the overpopulation and suffering of companion animals, we must find other ways to help.
NAWS is fully committed to working toward spaying and neutering all dogs and cats. We do this by providing those surgeries in our Animal Clinic at a low cost to everyone.
NAWS also rehomes over 2,500 homeless pets each year, and we pride ourselves on the fact that many of our adoptions are for senior or medical needs pets.
