Meet the Pet
This helps Just Giant Rescue Inc - Illinois Chapter with pet care costs.
Training:
Leash Trained - walks loose leash
Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command
Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents
Car - Rides well in the car
Meet Sonny- he is sure to sweep you off your feet and fill an empty spot on your sofa and heart. He’s not
in a hurry to rush things, he prefers to take things nice and slow. Making sure things are safe and giving
him the time he deserves to get familiar with all things new is key. Sonny prefers a home with a confident
leader and lots of structure. He loves to stay on his routine once he has that figured out the rest is history.
Sonny does great with the company of another dog that understands he’s the boss. A female dog
companion would be ideal, but being the only dog child would be just fine too. If your home has a dog
savy cat, count him in.
Sonny prefers to spend his days lounging on the couch or a comfy spot at the feet of his person. He really
likes the ladies. You will never do a single thing alone at home with him around. Spending time outside
sunbathing is refreshing. But he has just enough energy to chase a ball or wrestle his fur sibling outside.
When it comes to little people-Sonny absolutely adores older giant breed experienced kiddos. He thinks
it’s really fun to chase his current little person on his dirt bike, always keeping his eye on him to make
sure he’s safe. He’s also a pro at hanging out and just watching tv with the little people when it’s time to
call it a day.
Potty and crate trained-he has it mastered. Sonny does well on a leash and even knows how to sit, shake
and stay when instructed.
A fenced in backyard wouldn’t be a must, but having strangers in/out of an open yard likely wouldn’t be
his cup of tea. That would be a little scary for him. Sonny also has really long legs and can cover a lot of
ground in a hurry if he gets the urge to explore so being left unsupervised outside wouldn’t be ideal
Sonny's perfect adopter?
Patient, experienced large breed, he will be a work in progress. He is very leary of new people and gets
spooked easily. Has to be someone that has time and patience to work through his initial fear. He is less
worried with females initially but I do think he needs a confident, gentle male in his life.
