My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mars came to us as a foster dog after a kind woman found her on the side of the road. She had been struck by a car and required emergency surgery to repair her broken hip. It took several months of TLC to get her back to frolicking just like a puppy.

Although we intended to keep her, one of our residential cats started to exhibit signs that he wasn’t comfortable with a dog in the house. Although Mars is a good girl with cats and dogs of all sizes (see photos!) this cat in particular has been unable to conquer his fear and it has started to impact his health. Sadly, we need to rehome our sweet girl.

Mars came to us December 2022, so we’ve had her a little over a year. She is an anxious girl with new people, but once she’s warmed up to you, she’ll be attached at the hip. As is the case with most German shepherds, she can be very vocal and excitable. You’d never guess she had a broken hip with how she bounces around.
