This helps Atlanta Lab Rescue with pet care costs.
Jesse is a five-year-old, 65-pound silver lab that wandered onto a property because their dog was in heat. Someone recognized the dog and claimed that the owner was from AL, and somehow, the dog was dumped in GA. The person whose property he was on said he was very sweet, friendly, and good with all her dogs and cats. She neglected to mention that he had an injured front leg that caused him to limp. Supposedly, per the person who knew him from AL, it was an old injury, but unfortunately, the x-rays showed that it would need to be amputated. No good deed goes unpunished. Now, a dog that we thought sounded perfect and would get adopted fast will need someone who doesn’t mind a three-legged dog. He hasn’t used that leg for a while, so managing without it should be a breeze. We want to find a foster or adopter to take him before we do the surgery and get him settled. We had not planned on a “special needs” dog and didn’t have a foster and hate for him to go to boarding. If you want to adopt or foster to adopt Jesse, please click the “Adopt” button and submit an Adoption application. If you can help foster, visit our Foster page and submit a Foster application.
