Please read the bio IN ITS ENTIRETY. If you are interested in adopting, please send an email to gateway4paws@gmail.com for additional information. Only complete & qualified applications will be considered for adoptions. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications & FAQ regarding adoption can be found on our website.

We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive there for a meet and greet.

Brody was purchased from a breeder by a family who thought they wanted a puppy. They quickly learned that puppies require a lot of attention & care. It really was too much for them & after almost a year, they decided to surrender him to rescue. In rescue, we have a responsibility to look for the most qualified applicant & match Brody with them. We take that task very seriously. We have requirements that applicants must meet & we require references.

Brody's foster mom says that he does well on a leash, so we won't require a fence. But we must insist that you always harness & leash him for his safety. He absolutely loves the freedom of being outside & playing. Never ever should he be left unattended outside.

Brody is young, and he has been socialized quite a bit. He has been around children who know how to appropriately interact with small dogs. And he has been in public stores that allow dogs, he enjoys getting to see people and go shopping! Brody also enjoys the company of dogs of similar temperament & energy.

He is doing great with potty training (like, he is trained). Please remember that changes, like a new environment, require a small learning curve. His new family will need to be prepared to set him up for success & get a routine in place.

His foster family tells us that he enjoys sleeping in the big bed sometimes & other times he sleeps in his little bed. He is a very active little guy that enjoys playing with his toys, particularly balls. He also enjoys playing around with his canine friends. If you think Brody may be a good match for your family, please reach out to us!
