My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cruise - a handsome, social German Shepherd. Cruise was described as house trained in his previous home. When strangers would come over to visit, he was calm and would sit next to his new friends. He lived in a home with teenagers ages 15 and 16 and was described as calm around the children in the home. He`s met dogs at the Shelter and has enjoyed romping around the exercise yards with some of them, but like most adult dogs, he may not enjoy the company of every dog that he comes across. We call that `dog selective` and it`s totally normal: just like people, some of us are super-social and love big, random parties, others prefer the company of a smaller group of family and friends! A home with another dog to play with is a possibility and we can arrange a meeting at the Shelter prior to adoption to see how they do as individuals. Cruise finds kitties a bit too enticing to chase so a home that is feline free is required. Cruise is a smart cookie and has already started learning a repitoire of life skills and manners such as: sit, stay and aly down. He waits for his food and can catch treats in the air (Air Bud, am-i-right?!). Cruise rides in the car nicely and also has learned to ride alongside a bike as a form of exercise and enrichment. He would thrive in a home that will commit to positive reinforcement based training to continue learning and bonding with Cruise in his next adventure. Cruise would thrive in a home where he is with his people all the time as spending time apart is upsetting. In return, you will get the most handsome sidekick as your shadow. Looking for a well-rounded shepherd boy to complete your home? Cruise over to the shelter!
