My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Otto was brought in by the Humane Law Enforcement Team on February 21, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Otto, a stunning long-haired cat who is looking for a home to call her own. Otto came from a home with several cats, but actually seems to do best as the only cat! After receiving necessary dental surgery and a bit of grooming at the shelter, Otto is feeling much better and ready for her new beginning! She's a shy sweetheart who hasn't been very social with people and is seeking a calm and quiet environment to adjust and flourish in. Due to her timid nature, Otto would do best in a home without kids. With patience and understanding, Otto is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion for the lucky family willing to give her the love and care she deserves. Do you have the right home for Otto? Come in and ask about adopting today!

Shy/Fearful Cat:  Otto requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
