My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Mielle, though my foster mom calls me Mama or Missy. I am a doxy mix born approximately 2/20/22. I came to Minnesota all the way from Tijuana. I wasn’t too sure about the cold and snow but I like it better now that it’s getting warmer. My foster mom doesn’t know if I was a stray or in a shelter in Tijuana but she thinks possibly a stray. I’m pretty timid around new people and will hide from them. It takes me A LOT of time to adjust to new surroundings and people but once I do, watch out, as I will tempt you to play with me or follow you around. I live with my foster brother who leaves me alone. I’ve tried playing with him but get shy when he joins. I like having my kennel open during the day to nap in when I get tired, otherwise I like to explore the house, play with my toys or chill on the couch while my foster mom works. I'm fully house trained. I let her know I have to go out by whining at her and then heading to the back door. I like looking under the fence at the neighbors and would sneak into their yard if I could. So I need supervision while outside doing my business. No matter what, I get the zoomies every time I go outside now that it’s warmer out and have to do a couple laps before getting down to business. I like to sleep in my kennel at night with my blankets and a toy for when I wake up too early to come out.

The perfect family for me would be patient with me as I learn my boundaries and what they expect from me. They would love me and give me lots of pets and treats, or let me have my alone time when I need it. I’m good with smaller dogs. I have not been tested around bigger pups, or cats, whatever they are.
