There is no question why YinYang got his name - he truly looks like the symbol! His adorable black and white face is going to be a head turner and walk stopper, because everyone is going to comment on how cute he is in your neighborhood.
YinYang, or Yin for short, is very affectionate. He’d have no problem finding comfort on your couch and by your side as you cozy up for some TV time. We have seen Yin to go to the bathroom in designated spots at the shelter, and rarely soils his kennel, so we believe he is going to pick up house training very quickly in his forever home. He is also treat motivated which is another bonus for learning commands, tricks, and mastering house training (more than he already has it down)!
Yin is dog friendly and he actually has a doggy roommate at AAC. He thrives on interactions with people and dogs alike, so he is definitely compatible to live in a home with a resident dog already. To ensure compatibility, we will host a doggy meet up with your pup and our staff.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.
