My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🍀💚🍀Stella’s adoption fee through the shelter is only $29 for the whole month of March!!!🍀💚🍀

WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
I’m “Stella” Bella🌸

ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL?
I’m a beautiful girl.🎀

HOW OLD ARE YOU?
I am just over a year old!

WHAT BREED ARE YOU?
I’m a pit bull mix.

HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH?
I weigh approximately 50 lbs.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE?
I am mostly gray with white tips and a stripe on my nose, like a snow covered mountain.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT?
I eat anything that is offered to me. I love it all. Treats are my favorite, I love to perform for them, as earning treats is the best way to receive. When exploring I get curious about leaves, sticks and acorns and may nibble on them as well, but foster mom says they’re not food.

WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE?
I am a delicate, emotional, intuitive flower. 🌸I like to peer into my humans eyes with love and devotion and receive lots of hugs and kisses. I am extremely precious, but not above getting a case of the zoomies. I can be quite rambunctious around playful friends and love to play wrestle, and tumble around the yard with my friends.

DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY:
My perfect day is waking up to morning cuddles, taking a walk outside and/ or playing in the yard with human or furry friends, receiving yummy treats and more cuddling before bedtime.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY?
Oh man, such a difficult question. My favorite would have to be a squeaky stuffy. I love running around with my stuffy making it squeak all along the way. But I also love to play fetch with balls, toys, and sticks. 🎾

DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS?
I’m constantly learning new things. Currently I know how to sit, down, stay, and wait patiently to exit doors and eat meals until I am told it’s ok. I also have excellent recall.

WHAT SCARES YOU?
I am not a very jumpy dog, but can be startled by loud awkward noises. But I approach most things with curiosity rather than fear. I just need a human to let me know things are ok and safe.

HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN?
Yes, I love children. I get along with them well, I just need adult supervision for those times I do get rambunctious because I am a strong girl with a lot of energy. 💪

DO YOU LIKE CATS?
I am undecided about cats. I approached one in a glass kennel and we sniffed nose to nose gently. That was pretty cool. But I think I need more time with one to establish boundaries and friendship.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS?
I absolutely love love love other dogs. I get so excited when I see one, I just want to meet it and run and play. I currently live with a distant cousin who is about twice the size of me, I like to shadow him and learn from him. I’ve also had very successful play dates with a blue heeler and a boxer.

IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
I want to be wherever my human is. Ideally playing or cuddling. Happiness for me is to love and be loved. ❤️🩷💜

HOW IS YOUR HEALTH?
I am a specimen of youth and vitality. I have no health issues, and have no physical limitations except that I am not that great and jumping up into things… I need a boost.

WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION?
I live with my foster mom, my long lost cousin pitty Tucker the Tank, and 16 chickens. I love them all, learning about the chickens and not to chase them. But if I had to pick a favorite it would be foster mom.

WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE?
When I’m home alone I’m either asleep in my crate or in a cozy she shed with my crate.

WHERE DO YOU SLEEP?
Cuddle time is spent on the couch with foster mom. But at bedtime I like to sleep cozily in my crate. It’s my safe space. 😴 💤

DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH?
I love going for walks. Everything outside is still so new and exciting to me. I can get a bit exuberant and pull, but when I’m instructed to heel I listen and fall back. I still need some leash training to be great, but I’m eager to learn.

DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?
I’d like to say overall no, however I have been caught eating miscellaneous things outside. So I need some help learning what is food and what is not. Also, it has been discovered that I am quite athletic and can escape yards that are not secure, or fences that are not high enough. When I do escape, I do not run off however, I go looking to find my humans.

ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)?
Yes!!! I only use the bathroom outside when I have the choice. If I have to go at night, I gently whine to let my human know. I do my business quickly, and back to bed I go. During the day I go outside freely, and am currently learning how to use a doggy door to be more independent .

DO YOU LIKE WATER?
I love water. I have been to the lake a few times and love retrieving sticks out of the water. I also enjoy walking in puddles, and nibbling at the hose water.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY?
I am so appreciative of the structure and love I’m provided at my foster home. They love me, and hug me, and tell me what a good girl I am. But they don’t let me get away with too many shenanigans or bad behavior. I enjoy learning proper doggy manners and responding to commands. And the rewards of treats, love and attention are that much sweeter. They are helping me become my best doggy self for you!

WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO YOUR FOSTER HOME?
I was originally found in a field as a stray puppy. I was then living in a shelter when a family adopted me. They kept me for several months, but then returned me. They said having me and another 7 month old puppy was too much. They also were not happy that I could escape their yard. So back to the shelter I went. I was so sad. Then another family took me out for the day. I had a great time playing with the little girl nd receiving love from everyone, but unfortunately their older dog did not like me and roughed me up a bit. So back to the shelter I went with a few boo boos. Then my foster mom came to scoop me up out of my sorrow. Now I’m living my best life until my true parent chooses me. I can’t wait!🩷
