My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Presenting Chief, the top dog in need of a loving command post! This 2 year old pup is on a mission to find his forever home. While he's always up for a friendly face-to-face with his human counterparts, this four-legged sergeant prefers the company of adults and would excel in a solo dog household where he can get all the treats and cuddles. Known for his fetching charm and sweet demeanor, Chief is a true soldier of love. He enjoys brisk morning marches and maybe a nice brushing now and again. You can often catch Chief working on training sessions or giving some of the cutest howls you'll ever hear. So, if you're ready to enlist in a lifetime of snuggles and tail wags, then Chief is ready to report for duty!

More about this shelter

Asheville Humane Society is about hope, not heartache. As Buncombe County’s critical safety net since 1984, we are always here to save and protect every animal. We have mastered the art of saving lives within our walls and now we are going even further, helping our community’s pets and their people thrive together. We are going beyond a no-kill community to ensure that each animal has the quality of life they deserve – a life worth living.
