My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Oscar, a wise 6-year-old Shepherd seeking a foster or foster-to-adopt home to embark on a fresh start after finding himself surrendered to the shelter with a furry companion.

Oscar faces a challenge on his journey to a better life – two upcoming FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgeries to enhance his mobility. Despite the uncertainty, Oscar approaches this chapter with courage and a wagging tail, proving that his spirit is as resilient as they come.

On the leash, Oscar handles short walks with finesse, and he takes delight in chasing balls, even if just for short distances. A lover of grooming, he revels in brushing sessions and cherishes cuddle time. Food is a true motivator for Oscar, adding a touch of joy to every interaction.

While he may be on the larger side, Oscar is on a healing journey and looks forward to gaining some weight post-surgery. With the right care and love, he's poised to bounce back and regain his strength.

If you're ready to be the hero in Oscar's story, guiding him through the healing process and offering a loving foster or foster-to-adopt home, you have the chance to make a significant impact on this paw-some Shepherd's life. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: acskc.org/adoption/adoption-application

Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply!
