My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Skipper, she has 25% fewer legs than the average dog, but twice as much heart!

Skipper came into the rescue with her front right leg amputated, so we don't know what happened, but it is clear that she has fully acclimated to life as a tripod. Skipper is a spunky and confident pup who loves to run, fetch, and play with other dogs. She's comfortable jumping on and off the couch, and she can go up and down short staircases.

Skipper has lots of energy, so she's looking for a home where she can get a lot of exercise. This mini pittie loves to meet new people, and is known to lay down and ask for a belly rub from everyone she meets. Skipper also loves to snuggle with her person at the end of the day - and keep a blanket nearby, because she loves to burrow.

Skipper is fully house trained, and she is making great progress on crate training. She is friendly and playful with other dogs. She is comfortable on leash, and is a good listener on walks. She has been going up to a mile on her walks, but sometimes needs to take a short break to rest her front leg.

Everyone who has met Skipper agrees that she is the sweetest girl around and will bring joy into any home. Could Skipper be your new best friend? Apply to adopt today!

Additional adoption info

Please visit www.hopeanimals.org/adopt to learn more about our adoption process and to complete an adoption application.

Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter*, microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, and current heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

*If pet is not old enough to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, a $50.00 credit will be paid to your vet at the time of surgery.

We require a veterinary reference for current pet owners, and pets must be up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventative. We meet potential adopters in their homes and introduce the pets to the family's current pets to see if it is a good match. A copy of our adoption contract can be requested via email.
