My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bok's Story: Bok (meaning "blessing" in Korean)
Thank you for your interest in adopting Bok. Please note that Bok is an international rescue from South Korea. Upon approval of your application, you will be required to pick him up from a major airport, such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, or IAH. International adoption is not a complicated process, and we have years of experience with it. We would be more than happy to explain the process to you in detail.

Bok was found tied outside with other dogs, and his collar was so tight that it was cutting into his skin. Bok may be a bit startled when you approach him without any introduction, but he quickly becomes friendly when you make an effort to gain his trust. For example, he opens up immediately when you offer him treats. Once he becomes comfortable, he loves to play with you. Bok is also good with children, as he is friendly to all types of people. He behaves well with cats too.

Bok gets along with new dogs easily. He is friendly when meeting other dogs and enjoys sniffing and playing with them. The foster home has cats, and Bok showed no interest in them, indicating that he is not bothered by their presence. Bok jumps into the car easily and doesn't get carsick.

Bok is fully outdoor potty trained, and the foster lets him out into the backyard 3-5 times a day. He doesn't bark when he's alone, but he may bark when there's noise coming from outside. The foster family observed Bok's barking habits over a month and noted that he barked only three times. Bok tends to pull the leash during walks, and although the foster is working on it, he still needs some training. Usually, he relaxes on the leash after going potty during walks. Bok can be surprised by sudden noises and new things. He is not easily recalled and doesn't always come immediately when called. The foster is working on this, as Bok is not yet used to having a name and being called. However, he is quite familiar with living indoors with people. His favorite sleeping spot is near the foster's bed, and he has favorite toys as well.

Bok does not exhibit any food-guarding behavior towards people or dogs. He is still in South Korea, and if you are interested in adopting Bok, please go through our international adoption process. Bok is ready for his forever loving home.
