My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mira is not cut out for rescue life. She’s nervous and really needs a safe place to decompress. Could you be her hero? Mira is a 10 month old, female, Pit Bull mixed breed. She is very sweet and affectionate once she feels comfortable. She will be so worth the effort. Mira is going to make an amazing companion. She is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed.

Her foster mom writes "Mira is very timid and extremely nervous when you first meet her. Sudden movements, loud sounds all alarm her. She might not show well because of this and I pray that someone is willing to take the time to see who she REALLY is. Mira is a smart and very loving dog. Day 1 she had to be carried into the car and up/down stairs. They terrified her. Day 2 she jumped in the car and will go up and down (as long as I lead the way, but she's doing them herself). That change was in 24 HOURS. We went from having to bribe her to follow us to the door to go out to her being my shadow. She wants to sit close to me (sometimes she will just sit on top of me) and will nudge me when I stop petting her. She has not had ONE accident and she is under 1 year old. She does well on a leash and is easily handled. She is simply amazing!"

Unfortunately, due to past issues with landlords/housing/insurance, a restricted breed policy is in place for Bully breed/Pit Bull type dogs. This means that you must own your home and provide proof of homeownership to adopt a Bully breed/Pit Bull dog or puppy. While we understand that this may be an inconvenience, it is necessary to help reduce the number of devastated dogs being returned. We apologize for the inconvenience.

*PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO STRINGENT OUT OF STATE HEALTH CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS WE ARE NOW ONLY ADOPTING TO RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS*. We apologize for the inconvenience.
