My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET & FRIENDLY GAL:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 28 lbs. and needs to lose weight

Hi, my name’s Alice!  I found myself at animal control, and thankfully Mostly Mutts saw me and knew I needed to come with them!  They rescued me, and now I am getting lots of good care and attention from the loving volunteers while I wait to meet my new family.  You can tell I’m excited to do that by my cute smile!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I’ll want to be your only dog. / Cats unknown, but I guard my toys and don’t like dogs, so I’m thinking I may not like cats. I will need to be cat tested if you have a kitty. / I recently met a nice boy and girl at Mostly Mutts and liked them. I think older kids such as 10+ may be best since I guard my toys.  Let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as ‘a super sweet, tail-wagging, friendly girl’, and I bet you will agree when you meet me.  My wonderful nature and sweet spirit is sure to make you smile. / My energy level is 3-5.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I’m learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  So far, I know the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’ commands.  I also greet friendly strangers without jumping up on them.  I look forward to learning even more!  I also have guarding behaviors related to my toys, so my trainer is working with me on this, and Mostly Mutts is happy to help you too. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had some accidents on the shelter schedule, so I may need to go out a little more often.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with the nice volunteers.  I’m easy to leash up, then I’m ready for a nice shorter walk with you which will help with my weight loss and previously broken leg. I absolutely love toys as mentioned above. / I am a bit sensitive to touch on my rear end.  Other than the above-mentioned things, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, good care and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I need to continue losing weight so part of my meals are green beans to encourage this. You’ll likely notice a limp at times as I have an old break in my right rear leg that wasn’t treated properly, so it healed the best it could.  The weight loss will help lighten the load on that leg.  I’m on an over-the-counter joint supplement to help my joints feel their best. I've got some old lady lumps and bumps that don't bother me, and I hope you won't mind either.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.

I am looking for a family who is ready to share a loving home with a sweet, senior girl and is committed to continuing my weight loss.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
