My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arlin is a beautiful dog with a beautiful name. The name "Arlin" means "noble guardian." Our Arlin, who is both beautiful and noble, acquired his name under more pedestrian circumstances; he was found as a stray on Arlington Circle. He's about three years old and weights fifty-four pounds. He loves to play tug, he can be vocal, and he knows sit. He's very treat-motivated and can catch treats on the fly! He's been an ambassador at shelter events and has done very well. He also rides nicely in the car and he can sit on his back legs and "say please" for a treat. He has the most beautiful eyes, the softest fur, and one pronounced eye brow that gives him a unique look. He would make a loving companion for most families. We also think he would do best as the only pet. Meet Arlin for yourself and you'll see what a special dog he is.

Meet the Pet

If you decide on the pet you meet, they will be put in for a pre-adoption vet check. It can take up to a week for your pet to come home.

So you’re ready to add a family member to your home! Well you’re at the right place! To begin, you can view our animals available for adoption online, but there’s nothing like the real thing. We welcome you to come to our shelter and spend some time getting to know our animals in person.

To start off, please review the adoption guidelines below to speed up the adoption process:

1. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

2. All adoption applications must be filled out completely.

3. An adoption application must be completed before any animal can be taken out for a visit. No animal will be taken out for a visit prior to this time.

4. You will need picture ID, with name and current address, to photo copy onto your application.

5. Any animal on a HOLD cannot be taken out for a visit until its holding time is up and it is available for adoption.

6. All dogs MUST be licensed with your Town prior to leaving the CNYSPCA, ask adoption counselor for further details.
