Milton is another victim of the puppy boom. Breeders got a little overzealous the last few years & now puppies are being surrendered to rescue at an alarming rate. We’ve gotten many as owner surrenders, but several, like Milton, are coming directly from the breeder.

Milton has really been thrown for a loop with this giant big new world around him. He is timid, but curious. And so small.... so very small, definitely a trip hazard, so please keep that in mind when you are picturing him in your home! He would do very well to just ride around in the pouch of your favorite hoodie, lol.

We are open to discussing an x-pen if you do not have a fenced yard. And if you have a fenced yard, we are still going to recommend an x-pen. Milton does not need or want a gigantic yard. He needs a safe, small, well-contained space so he can continue working on his potty training.

NEVER EVER should he be left in a yard without supervision, we cannot stress this enough! If you have interior stairs, please have a plan to keep him off the stairs unsupervised. Additionally, please be aware of the stair railing & the distance between the spindles.

Milton is working on potty training. It is a process that will require commitment & patience, as he has a little puppy bladder. When a new environment is introduced, there are changes in routine, therefore he will need his family to set him up for a successful transition. Consistency & patience will be required.

We like to remind applicants that a new puppy is a lot like a toddler. They need to be supervised, and the best way to do that is to have a dedicated space set up for them. This area will be a part of the home where they can see activity & observe, but it is a place that is puppy proofed. Where they can play, lounge, or nap when their family is not directly engaging with them. Playpens, 4-squares, or x-pens are excellent tools to make this possible. They are easily mobile if you want to move them around, too.

Bringing home a new puppy is a huge responsibility that requires oodles of time! Please apply if you meet the requirements & would like to adopt an adorable puppy. Please don’t apply without speaking to your spouse/partner first. We are ready to find Milton his forever family!
